EMDR and Trauma


Most of us have experienced some sort of trauma in our livetimes.  These can be large traumas or small.  Things that we know are causing difficulties in our lives because of the magnitude of the offense to our systems or those we think we should be able to ignore because they're so prevalent in many lives, can all be addressed through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).  

EMDR is a powerful and effective therapy for the treatment of trauma. It incorporates eye movements or other bilateral stimulation into an approach that processes and releases information trapped in the mind and body, freeing people from disturbing images and body sensations, debilitating emotions, and restrictive beliefs.  Studies have found that EMDR therapy effectively decreases or eliminates the symptoms of post traumatic stress, anxiety and depression for the majority of clients.
